Sparks

- Sparks - is for our youngest children, from birth to reception year. Carol, Rosie, Jane, Richenda and Trudie lead this group which meet in the creche at the back of the auditorium.  Parents are welcome to either stay with their children or to leave them.

In Sparks we will share a Bible story together as well as a craft activity, some songs and a time of prayer. This term we are hearing about some of the characters from the Old Testament like Moses, Joshua and Naaman before heading in to the Nativity Story.

Flames

Flames meet in Abbot House Nursery next door to the Christian Centre but meet at the main entrance doors when it’s time for groups and we go over together. Children from 5 to 7 are welcome in this group which is led by Nicky, Amber and Annette.

This group explore the Bible through drama, games, discussions, crafts and fun challenges. This term we’ll be learning about the Creation and the stories of Noah, Isaac and Abraham before moving on to the C word.

Sparks--2

Energize

Energise, for 7 to 11’s meet in the Harbour Room and is led by Phil, Ann, Phil and Emm.  There are discussions, challenges, games and crafts to help us dip into the Bible in this group.

Using the Xstream material from Scripture Union we are looking at the Exodus from chapter 16 for the first few weeks and then we will move on to the call of Samuel and Psalm 23 before approaching the run up to Christmas starting at Advent.

hydrate

Hyrdrate is on the 3rd Sunday of each month there are no regular children’s groups, instead we have our own church just for children!  This is for any children up to year 6. We leave the main congregation after the first song and share a longer time together in the Oyster Bay Room for our own style of worship, gathering, bible story, crafts, activities, prayer time and games.

This term we are looking at three of the big characters in the Old Testament. We’ll start by thinking about Abraham and how he has more descendants than the grains of sand on the beach or stars in the sky. In October we’ll think about Moses and the Ten Commandments and how relevant they are today, we’ll also have a go at making up our own commandments. In November we ‘ll think about the great flood and Noah and remember the promise of the Rainbow.

(Hydr8 doesn’t run during August and December)
