Youth Ministry
A Christ-centered generation of young people daring to make God number one
Our desire is for every young person to feel that they belong when they come to St Alphege Seasalter. We hope that they are comfortable to be themselves and find it easy to make friends and have fun.
We try to make plenty of space for our young people to ask ‘big’ questions about life and faith, offering support to all, no matter where they are on their journey with God.
We have a part-time dedicated youth worker, Georgina, who works to support and grow our youth in faith and number.
We long for our young people to be the trailblazers of our faith in Jesus to their own generation. To be a bold community who dare to follow God wherever he is calling them.
What's on
- REVERB Youth Club -
Every Thursday | 6-7.30pm | SCC (Term Time)
This is a great chance for us to be together, have some fun and catch up. We usually play a mix of games, outside if the weather is good, and it’s open to anyone in year 7 and above.
- Sunday mornings -
We have recently changed the way we meet with the youth on a Sunday morning and it is different across the weeks of the month. Some weeks we will be at the Old Church for a youth service during the whole of the 10.30am service and some weeks we will be running groups for bible study, discussion, hot topics etc after joining the rest of the congregation for worship. Some weeks we will stay after church for a lunch together to discuss the bible passage and sermon and to see what take-aways we can have for our own lives in 2021.
- Y -
Every Sunday evening (except summer holidays) 6-8pm, SCC.
**Our youth service is on hold for the time being but we are looking to be back in person in the near future.**
Our youth service takes place every Sunday evening. We spend time worshipping God and hearing his word, learning how to live out the Christian faith as a young person in today’s society. We love to invite young people to be in the worship band or have a go at giving the talk if they’d like to, supporting them as they go.
- Weekend away -
This is for our younger youth and is usually around June time. It allows us to spend time getting to know each other better. Much of the time we have fun, competing in challenges, doing activities such as the low rope assault course and toasting marshmallows on a camp fire. We also have time for the ‘God stuff’ too, looking at what faith is and how we can develop it.
- Residential trip in the summer -
Sadly we have not managed to have a residential trip for the last two summers because of Covid but we are already beginning to think of what we could do for summer 2022 – more info to follow.
