Baptisms

If you are considering Baptism for yourself or for your child, you’ve come to the right place.  We’re here to help and support you every step of the way.

At Seasalter we welcome people ‘where they are’, so although Baptism always means the same thing it can take different forms. Have a look at our booklet Baptism: What we do, and Why we do it.

Many people begin with the awesome responsibility of welcoming a new baby.

Baptism (also known as ‘Christening’ for very young children) is the start of an amazing journey of faith for your child and a special day for all your friends and family.

The church family is there to support you so that your child’s Baptism can be the beginning of a journey with God which continues for the rest of their life.

Increasingly many people come to Baptism when they are older.  For them, it is a personal response to God’s love.  Together with the church family they rejoice in what Jesus Christ has done for them and express their own commitment to him.  Often we take the opportunity to conduct such Baptisms in the sea.

Some people decide they prefer to wait until their child can make the decision for themselves.  If so, we are very happy to offer a Service of Thanksgiving (sometimes called a Dedication) instead.
